School safety training integrates a number of disciplines including: threat assessment, crime prevention, workplace violence prevention. It adds, however, the unique challenges of integrating into the busy schedules of faculty and students, and doing so in a way that lowers the anxiety of young people rather than increasing it. It is important that school safety training makes students feel safer, not afraid.
